I've been in IT since 1974, before that I did the first "A" level in computing available in England. Primarily working in APL since 1976. Like a lot of APLers I've spent much of my time in the financial business area, in my case an awful amount of trading systems for banks.

I started out using Sharp APL in 1976, after a few years as a Fortran / Assembler / other - mainly Cobol - programmer. I also used TIS APL, Data General APL (can't be many people who can say that), VS/APL from 1981 to 1985, STSC's NARS for a couple of years, then APL*Plus (DOS version) from 1986 right up until 2004 (yes 2004), then from 1996 to 2000 VS/APL, APL+ on mainframe & Dyalog/W. I've continued with Dyalog, a little APL+ & experimented with APLX.

So I've been around the block a bit

Although, again like many of us, I like to pontificate on any subject to hand, I've not written an article for years, nor have I given a talk to the BAPLA or at a conference for some time.

I do have a lot of experience with Wiki systems, so I hope to do some APL related ranting here :-)
