If you find that in particular the small sizes of your preferred APL Unicode font look very ugly indeed in a browser (any browser that is) there is something you can do.

For XP:

  1. Open "Start > Setting > Control Panel"

  2. Select "Display"
  3. Select Tab "Appearance"
  4. Click button "Effects"

  5. From the selection box underneath "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts:" select "ClearType"

  6. Click OK and OK
  7. Press F5 if you are already looking at a page with APL chars.

For Windows 7:

  1. Click on "Start" and then type "Clear" into the "Search programs and files" edit field.

  2. Select "Adjust ClearType text".

  3. Make sure the "Turn on ClearType" check box is ticked.

  4. Click "Next" until finally the wizard clears off.
